Uphold sanctity of democracy and respect will of people

The upcoming Goa elections should witness political parties contesting independently for their own seats. Only after winning should parties decide whom to support. This will ensure a fair and transparent democratic process. Stop the fear of vote division. We have repeatedly seen Congress MLAs defecting to the BJP post-election, undermining the voters' mandate. Such political opportunism weakens the system and erodes public trust. The continuous disregard for laws and the electorate turns elections into a mere waste of taxpayers’ money. It is time to uphold the sanctity of democracy and respect the will of the people.

Following an IIT Madras structural audit report that red flagged several design and execution defects in the 'supposed' renovation works at Kala Academy, a government appointed task force has recommended shuttering the  Dinanath Mangeshkar auditorium for repairing the earlier 'repairs', this closure would throw the whole Goan cultural season out of gear and many artistes will incur monetary losses.
