Use barren fields for caged fishing

Amchem Bhangarachem Goem is known for its fish, curry and rice. But this profession of fishery and agriculture has now started to decline very rapidly.

The farmers have been crying foul on the comunidade/ farmers committee for not maintaining and repairing the sluice gates and damaging the bandhs thereby allowing the saline water to enter the fields.

On the other hand, the youth are not interested in small time fishing. The only hope now is using the Atmarnirbhar Bharat for caged fishing in these fields. The fishery department and the government should encourage people to convert these fields into fish farming fields otherwise there is always a threat of the big real estate lobby with the support of farmers and ministers to convert these fields into concrete jungles.

Let's hope the government will use part of the Rs 300 crore central fund for this purpose. Employment will also be generated if the government starts a Fish Corporation of Goa.
