Vandalism at Wistron not good for business

The vandalism at Taiwan-headquartered Wistron Corp in Karnataka is a worrying and very serious matter. The facility for manufacturing high-end iPhones was destroyed and it is known whether the disgruntled elements were employees or outsiders. Why did the police not intervene? What about internal security that did not offer any resistance or failed to seek help from outside? This incident is a major setback for the make in India initiative as foreign investors will think twice before investing in India. China has cautioned its investors wanting to open businesses in India under such a hostile atmosphere. The authorities must move in to do the damage control and ensure those behind the incident face action. Right now the attitude of the authorities concerned does not seem to inspire confidence and Karnataka as a destination for investment has much to lose.
