Vote wisely to choose your parliamentarians

In a democracy, power lies in the hands of the people, and it is imperative for every eligible voter to exercise their right judiciously. Before election, their words are the most beautiful ever uttered on behalf of democracy. But once elected, they conveniently become amnesiac. People are also equally responsible for the problems affecting their country. Accountability punctures the facade that government builds to fool people. Consider the track record, integrity, and commitment of candidates before casting your vote. It is essential for voters to recognise the power of their votes in shaping the nation’s future. Electing MPs who prioritise the welfare of their constituents and exhibit dedication to their parliamentary duties is crucial for effective governance and representation.

Removing Portuguese legacy by felling old trees?

I am a bit confused with our Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s  statement made a couple of months ago about removing the colonial Portuguese legacy from the State.  My question is does it also include cutting down 100-400-year-old trees planted during Portuguese era,  as we are witnessing all over Goa today eg in Panaji too age old trees have been targetted for the “so called” smart city development project.
