While rains are often to blame, this year’s destruction is exacerbated by the new sewage treatment plant built in their fields. This plant occupies the low-lying areas, causing natural water paths to flood the Guirim area.
This issue will persist, as our ministers and local MLAs continue their so-called development projects, leading to destruction. The public remains silent, enduring months of hardship before returning to a semblance of normalcy.
