Dark clouds loom over Goan soil. On one side, Maharashtra migrants are pushing to make Marathi the second official language of Goa. On the other, Karnataka migrants are pushing for contesting assembly elections and dictating how Goans should live, as if Goa belongs to neighbouring states. Our land is in danger due to corrupt politicians eager to sell Goan land to outsiders. Migrants are even changing their names to Goan ones, attempting to alter our identity, culture, festivals, and place names. What do these migrants truly know about Goa and its people? They seek to divide us by religion and distort Goan history as if they have been reborn here. It is troubling that large neighboring states, already having their own official languages, are trying to impose their culture and language on Goa, disturbing our peace and harmony. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and his ministers bear responsibility for turning Goa into a state vulnerable to crime by encouraging unchecked migration for vote bank politics. Enough is enough.
