Ahead of Goa Assembly Elections 2022, we Goans are witness to high drama. Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao bab has taken everyone by surprise.Not only he - along with his daughter and supporters - has hitched his wagon to Didi's Goa upstart Trinamool Congress but also he has merged legislative wing of NCP with Trinamool Congress.
What is wily old fox Churchill bab up to? What has Trinamool Congress offered him for this act of daredevilry? What is under the table deal? Goans are intrigued. Where will this politics of defection end? Who is benefiting more? People of Goa? Parties that encourage defection and accept defectors into its fold? Do these so-called regional satraps have any regard for the people of Goa who elect them and make them as tall a leader as they claim to be? Mind boggles at the ideological somersaults performed with panache. Goans must wake up and reject this type of misconduct hook, line and sinker when they show up at the polling booth in February 2022.
