Looking at Goa today, I am reminded of the Bollywood film Aaj Ka Goonda Raaj, where ministers use goondas to silence people and grab land. Sadly, this is now our reality. Politicians use goondas during elections and to threaten those who speak up to protect Goa, Goans, and our environment. Activists are being targeted and receive threat calls because they expose the truth about ministers, the builder mafia, and other powerful groups.
The real masterminds are often ministers and panchayat leaders, many facing criminal cases of rape, murder, drug smuggling, and even attacks on police. At the same time, several have become crorepatis. Their children live in luxury while ordinary Goans struggle for jobs and daily needs.
If this situation is not controlled, Goa may face unrest like Nepal, Bangladesh, or Sri Lanka, where people took the law into their own hands against corrupt governments. When ministers themselves act like goondas, how can they punish others? We must remember: no one carries gold, diamonds, or money after death. We come empty-handed and go empty-handed. What belongs to the world belongs to God. Let us act human, not worse than devils.
