With rising cyberattacks, how secure is crypto investment?

A major theft has occurred in the cryptocurrency world. A staggering $1.5 billion (approximately ₹13,000 crore) worth of digital currency has been stolen from the Bybit exchange. This is considered one of the largest crypto thefts in history. A hacker gained control of Bybit's offline Ethereum wallet and transferred a significant amount of funds through multiple transactions. After Bitcoin, Ethereum is regarded as the world's second most valuable digital currency. Last year, in July, India's crypto exchange WazirX also faced a major cyberattack, resulting in a loss of around ₹2,000 crore. The cyberattack analysis firm Elliptic has linked this attack to North Korea's state-sponsored hacking group, Lazarus. The Lazarus group is infamous for stealing billions of dollars from the cryptocurrency industry. The same group was linked to the attack on India's crypto exchange last year. Following this theft, fear has spread among Bybit exchange users, prompting many to withdraw their funds immediately. With increasing cyberattacks worldwide, how secure is investment in cryptocurrency?
