True to his word, on 21 July 2025, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced a new scheme for over 3,000 daily wage workers in Goa’s municipalities and panchayats. Their salaries will now rise to Rs 20,000– Rs 25,000, with some getting a 51% hike, plus EPF, ESI, leave benefits, and a 3% yearly increment. This will take effect from 1 August, just before Ganesh Chaturthi, bringing hope and dignity to many families. The government has planned a sustainable Rs 4 crore investment to honour the important work of these workers who keep our cities and villages clean. Their happiness can be felt across Panaji, Pernem and beyond. Their hard work in waste collection and sanitation has helped Panaji and Sanquelim win national and state awards, moving Goa towards a cleaner, greener future. This decision is not just policy but a promise kept, ensuring every worker’s efforts are seen and valued.
