Illusion, delusion, or mirage: Is everything really okay?

Is building big bridges and holding grand events truly helping Goa progress, or is the government creating an illusion that everything is fine? Is this development really helping the common person, or is the government using the name of the people to fill its own pockets?

Everyone calls our beautiful country “Digital India”, and now we are moving towards artificial intelligence. But as Goans, are we really progressing? In Goa, large bridges are built, but many villages still struggle with unsafe rope bridges. For example, in Bankalwada, Sanguem, people have been appealing to the authorities for a proper bridge, but no one listens. They are forced to build a temporary wooden bridge every year with their own money.

These villages need safe and strong bridges for daily life. The government must channel taxpayers’ money in the right way, focusing on the basic needs of people rather than only on big projects that look good from the outside.
