What a cracker of a match by England to win the bronze medal at the World Cup but there is another facet to the three lions which very few people are aware of. For nearly two decades, England's men's national team has quietly given something back every time they step onto the pitch. Since 2007, every senior England player has donated their full international match appearance fee to charity rather than keeping it for themselves. What began as an initiative led by senior players has become a tradition that every new generation of England internationals has continued. Over the years, those donations have raised more than 15 million pounds, helping fund charities and community projects across the UK. Beneficiaries have included organizations such as UNICEF, Help for Heroes, Red Cross, War Veterans Association, NHS, and the England Footballers Foundation, supporting everything from children's programmes to medical research, cancer patients, wounded soldiers and old age homes. England are true lions in every sense of the term, hats off to them.
