The sudden news of the passing away of veteran actor Nana Patekar at Manipal Hospital, Dona Paula on Thursday morning due to a heart attack has come like a rude shock for many in Goa
Patekar was known for his powerful performances and unforgettable screen presence. Unlike other Bollywood actors, Patekar was a very simple down-to-earth humble actor who spoke less, never boasted about himself but went on to give the best in most of his films through his own unique distinct acting skills and style. Patekar could play the role of a normal hero, a psycho, dumb person, as well as that of a villain with 100% perfection and that was something great about this most humble man. Who can forget his role in superhit films like Krantiveer, Tirangaa, Agni-Sakshi, Khamoshi and Parinda? Patekar's contribution to Bollywood and Marathi film industry was immense and will be remembered for generations to come. His untimely passing away has indeed created a vast void in the artistic world. As a die-hard admirer and fan of this great actor, I extend my condolences to Patekar's family. May his soul rest in peace.
