It is far from simple and easy to defeat the BJP as some in the opposition seem to believe. The current alliances—Goa Forward with AAP, and Congress with RGP—on their own are not strong enough to take on the BJP, a powerful national party with immense resources, big funds, and unwavering support from its central headquarters. For the sake of Goa and its citizens, all opposition parties—Congress, AAP, RGP, and Goa Forward—must come together and work as one cohesive unit. Internal egos and differences need to be set aside. Only through unity and combined efforts can the people of Goa hope to protect their land from the current government, which unfortunately has ignored public voices, pushed through controversial projects, sold out Goa’s rich heritage, destroyed our environment, and sowed division among people on the grounds of religion and language. The people of Goa do not want another BJP government that disregards their welfare and prioritizes political agendas over the environment and social harmony. The Opposition must realize that their survival and Goa’s future depends on their coming together to defeat the BJP.
