The Colva-Margao Road was widened after trees were cut on either side. Today, motorists can feel the heat along several stretches, particularly during peak hours. Food stalls and car garages are occupying roadside spaces, restricting the free and safe flow of traffic. The stretch has also become an open garbage-dumping ground. One wonders why CCTV cameras were not installed to identify and fine those dumping waste. Is this how we want to promote Colva as a tourism destination? All this is yet another example of unplanned development and the lack of follow-up, maintenance and law enforcement after development is completed.
