Current method of holding elections needs reviewing

JAYESH RANE, Mumbai | JANUARY 31, 2024, 09:22 PM IST

There is nothing wrong by political parties in making sincere efforts to come to power next time in states where they are not in power. But even if there is no election, they are sitting there, overthrowing the current government. Political compromises and negotiations are a clear message to the public that your job is only to vote. "If you reject us and accept someone else, we will adopt them anytime in the future." That is what the political affairs of Bihar have shown.

There is no sense left in holding elections through constitutional means. It remains only as a formality. Because if they don't get elected, there is no way of knowing when the unconstitutional way will be taken. Therefore, the current method of conducting elections should be seriously considered so that people's time and money will be saved and many development works can be done with it.
