A conversation about gender violence

A conversation about gender violence
Captured by : pick 2

Gender violence is a very real thing and affects a large section of women whether at home or at work or in public places. While newspapers abound in reported cases related to gender violence, a unique project is being put together in Goa ‘SafeGoa’ which aims to document and analyse data on sexual harassment, both reported and unreported.

With this on the agenda, a conversation on the issue is being conducted at People Tree located at 6 Assagao, Cursino Villa, about the ways and means in which Goa can be made safe for women.

Sexual harassment in Goa is real for increasing number of people, however there is very little reporting of it either officially or unofficially. SafeGoa is an online platform created to collect and analyse data on sexual harassment, using high and low tech methods, and to hold more conversations on the issues of gender based sexual violence.

Those keen on attending the event are invited to contribute ideas to support this project.

The event is being co-hosted by Chinmayi Sk (The Bachao Project) and Joanna Pyres (Art of Hosting Goa)
