Can going vegan help in living a disease free and healthy life? Answering this in affirmative, Shailender, a computer science graduate who is MD is Alternative Medicine will demonstrate how one can achieve this by changing their dietary habits in his interactive workshop at the ongoing IndiGenius Fest on June 2 from 11 am to 2 pm at Saraya in Sangolda.
“I would be talking about traditional foods, the right way to cook with grains, various fermentation processes, how to make probiotics and natural vinegars,” shares Shailender who has been working on natural living, practicing for himself and spreading the knowledge around to help people lead a chemical free healthy lifestyle. He lives on nature’s prescribed and traditional food and also an expert in yoga, nature cure and permaculture. He teaches various breathing techniques and communicating and connecting with tree energies.
The recipes Shailender would share with those who attend the workshop are Cocofen (hot beverage equivalent to coffee), unbaked live cake, unsteamed live idly, vegan cheese, fermented foods which include vegan curd, vegan curd rice, fermented vegetables, cheese spreads, fermented drinks (beet kvass), Copioca (fermented buttermilk from coconut milk and tapioca), fermented roti or bread (sour dough), fermented ragi malt, aambapani with ragi, vegan ice creams, millet recipes which include khichdi, porridge, roti, idli, dosa etc. He would also demonstrate making spice vinegars, sqashes, Tobesco (pizza spread) which will take 30-90 days in preparation.
A graduate in computer science, with five years’ experience in IT industry, he admits quitting the same to join his Guruji Sadguru Sai Kumar Babaji at Sai Geetha Ashram, Hyderabad, for 10 years and now traveling and practicing living in coherence with nature as much as possible.
