Movie-making is risky business. There’s a lot of money involved, and there’s no guarantee that it will all be recovered. One needs to make sure that word about the move will reach maximum people, and for that Bollywood uses a number of innovative ways to create publicity. In the 90s, there used to be a trailer on TV and a newspaper advert, and that would be it. In the 2000s the launch of trailer and music became big events which were themselves promoted on social media. By the time we came to 2010s, there were ‘teasers’, and ‘video posters’ in addition to various other gimmicks played by the cast and crew of the films.
Recently, the team of Ranbeer Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Bramhastra took the game to the next level with the launch of the film’s logo. What’s mpre, the logo unfolded in the skies of Prayagraj using 1000 drones on the last day of Kumbh Mela. There is no doubt this was an eye-dazzling publicity stunt. Some people on Twitter questioned as to why a film needs a logo, but who has time for such relevant questions?
Since its inception, the film has been hogging the limelight for the impressive cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan. While several speculations surrounding Amitabh and Alia’s cryptic social media post were doing rounds on the internet, the logo launch that took place yesterday at Kumbh Mela in Allahabad cleared most of the clouds in the air.
During the revelation of the official logo of the film, Alia took to her social media account and was sharing live updates with her fans. Today, Karan Johar’s Dharma Production, which has bankrolled the film, dropped the complete video of the logo launch that took place yesterday, and they also revealed that the official logo will drop online today. THe movie itself is set to release on December 20.
