Nari Shakti, an NGO from Ponda that aims at women empowerment mission beginning with a WhatsApp group for connecting small businesswomen, and business operators who work from home to clients across Goa, is now organising an exhibition cum sale of the products made by these women.
The exhibition, first of its kind by Nari Shakti aims at promoting the handmade, creative products and offering the women a bigger platform to display and sell their items on June 2 at Thrift Cooperative Hall, Vinayak Building, opposit Ponda Fire Station.
Apart from the sales, there will be many activities and happenings too, that will keep the participants and visitors engaged for the entire day. “We have a lot other activities and attractions besides the exhibition. The exhibition would be for the whole day, offering a take away breakfast, lunch, chats and snacks, followed by Mango Recipe competition, a formal program and a talk by Dr Purva Sahakari on ‘Women’s Health’ on the occasion of International Women’s Health Day,” states Anita Kavalekar, founder, Nari Shakti.
As a step towards motivating young women entrepreneurs, the founder Anita had started a WhatsApp group whereby ladies could promote their creative hand-made materials be it food, clothes, bags, envelopes, cakes, organic farming and other services that they offer. “Citing the huge response and success of the group that has over 250 members, we have decided to set up an exhibition to help these ladies promote their business further,” briefs Anita. The exhibition is open for general public.
Takeaways will be available and one can place orders for breakfast - pola and chutney, pole and prawns sukka (Seema 78755 35761), lunch - butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken tandoori, paneer tikka masala, paneer makhanwala, fried rice, chicken biryani and schezwan chutney (Rupa 92264 17287) and snacks - dabeli, dahi vada and misal pao (Bhavana 94057 99658).
