The Library Educator’s Course is a Professional Development Certificate course developed by Parag, an initiative of Tata Trusts and being offered in English for the first time by Bookworm Trust, Goa in 2017. This course is offered in dual mode. The course includes Contact Periods (3) and Distant Periods (2) over seven months. The course combines theory and practice. Reflection and discussions are designed to be initiated through an online discussion forum, assignments (4) spread over the course and an in-depth field project. The course is meant for librarians, teachers and others who work with children and books. It enables practitioners to imagine the library as an innovative and creative space that is open and active and to build their skills for designing effective library sessions with children. The course will comprise of a batch of 30 participants. Applications open on January 15 and close on February 15. Selections will be finalised by February 25 and the course will begin in April 2017.
