The season launch of the Bigg Boss Season 12 unveiled some real excitement that the show had instore. At a grand event organised to bring in something different this time, the Bigg Boss Salman Khan himself revealed the unusual factor that the show will focus on during the new season. The grand launch of the show will be premiered on Sunday, September 16 on Colors TV channel.
The launch, which earlier used to be in Lonavala, was organised at Villa Marina, Nerul in Goa. “In fact we wanted to do something different this time. It always used to happen in some hanger or an enclosed studio. So the organisers thought to fly down the media to Goa which is a very beautiful place and wanted to have the launch amidst the laid back environment here,” unfolded Salman who is in Goa and has kept himself free for the next 15 days for the promotions and the launch of the show.
This season the show has incorporated some unusual couples and unusual relationships in the Bigg Boss house. The ‘vichitra jodis’ or unusual couples will include saas-bahu’s drama, mama-bhanja’s camaraderie, Sita-Gita’s inseparable bond, Bade-Chhote’s playful connection, a helper’s deference towards his master, a grandmother’s undying love for her grandson - striking jodis such as these, since time immemorial, have always lightened our hearts and brightened our spirits. The show has tried to put them all under one roof wherein they will be equipped with daily tasks, weekly tasks, luxury tasks, secret tasks, special tasks and lucky tasks. The innovative theme “ ‘Iss bar aa rahi hai interesting Jodi’ has a beach setting wherein Bigg Boss will pack a punch with its assorted couple jodis battling it out to survive 100 days under the constant glare of multiple cameras and host Salman Khan’s lively supervision.
Claiming Bigg Boss to be India’s biggest property and also the biggest non-fiction show of Hindi GEC space, chief operating officer of Viacom18 Raj Nayak stressed that the show has not only earned them a loyal audience base over the years but has also earned them rich dividends in terms of partnerships and alliances. “Such is the success story of Bigg Boss that it has hit the right chords in whichever language it has been adapted to. The concept has remarkable potential and through the years we have been able to improvise it with newer themes, newer elements and newer faces. We have not only been able to retain out old sponsors and partners but also happy to join hands with some new ones. This is a good indicator of true partnerships and a sign that our clients are happy with their association,” he added during a media interaction that saw Salman performing to numbers that featured him in various movies.
The event also marked the 9 year long association of Salman Khan with the show which he proudly announced to be the longest serving relationship he ever had. “Ab lagta hai Bigg Boss se shaadi hi karlun (I feel I should get married to the show) atleast there wouldn’t be anyone asking you whether you have put on weight. May be because of this relationship people have actually forgotten about my marriage which is a good thing,” he smiles.
During the launch the organisers also introduced to another jodi that will be a part of forthcoming season. The recently married famous comedian Bharati Singh and her writer husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa who were earlier part of another show Khatron ke Khiladi were included into the Bigg Boss House this season. The hosts for the launch event were RJ Salil and RJ Archana of Radiocity 91.1.
Amongst the other partners present at the event were Nadia Chauhan, Joint Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer - Parle Agro and Abhishek Rege, ceo, Endemol Shine India. Apart from some of the major brands like Panasonic, Oppo and Parle Agro, Board of Cricket Control in India is also one of the partners of the Season 12.
As the jodis get set to fight all odds and live together for 100 days, their lives will be filled with unique challenges and situations that will test their mettle and be an entertainment bonanza for the viewers. While only the strong willed will survive, the others will need to give a tenacious fight to save themselves from eviction. The organisers claim it to be a family show where the audience get to see the real person in the participants who otherwise portray various characters in their respective fields. But Salman finds it indeed disturbing to see tense situations and the fights that take place in the house. He says that the voyeuristic aspect of the show does bother him personally. But he finds it really disturbing to see that such kind of shows are raising the TRP and that’s what people what to see on the national media.
After a picturesque launch announcement in Goa, the organisers are all set to activate a high voltage marketing and digital campaign for Bigg Boss 12 accelerating all touch-points and adding on to the already existing buzz.
