Building relationship with the society

The department of Social Work organised an alumni meet on the occasion of World Social Workers Day on March 19, on the theme ‘Building Relationships’. College alumni from the past 10 years were present on the occasion. The function was inaugurated by the chief guest Aparna Palenkar a professional social worker along with Manager Fr Joaquim Lobo and principal Cedric Silveira.  

The chief guest spoke about the main values of social work and emphasized on human relationships and the importance of communication and empathy. 

The alumni deliberated on taking up social work as profession in Goa and the importance of field work. The social workers than made a commitment to work ethically in their chosen field be it counseling, working with underprivileged children and marginalized groups etc. There was a small cultural program organised where Ivo Goncalves sang the famous song ‘Arey Ball’a composed by Late FR Bismarque Dias. A dance was performed by Adriel, Anny and Harish depicting college life.
