As part of their MOG Sundays initiative, Museum of Goa will be hosting ‘Poetry with Swastika Jajoo” on March 24 from 11.30am -12.30 pm at Museum of Goa, Pilerne. Aside from being a full-time chai drinker who makes self-proclaimed articulate observations on her love for the color yellow, she also enjoys writing poetry. Swastika is performing at a show by Unerase Poetry in Mumbai, a show with the museum of conflict - Conflictorium in Ahmedabad before she comes to Goa!
The young poet has worked enthusiastically for gender equality through a program called Gender Bender Aurangabad that she runs with her friend Meera and exclusively designs sessions explaining feminism for high schoolchildren. She was selected in January 2019 to work as an official blogger for the Jaipur Literature Festival, and won the second prize in a contest organized by Tata Steel in the same month. She will give a TEDx talk on April 21st, 2019 at Tohoku University. Swastika heads to Tohoku University this April on a scholarship by the foreign ministry of Japan.
