Choir singing contest at Kala Academy

The Kala Academy is organising the State level choir/hymns singing competition for the first time on Saturday, March 9 from 10am onwards at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Panaji. As per sequence of performances decided in the presence of representatives of choir groups by taking lots, the first 10 group will have to report Kala Academy latest by 9.30 am and the groups from sequence 11 to 32 will have to report by 1.30 pm without fail. 

As per the decided sequence of performance, 

Partilha Felicidade, Chicalim; Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho, Panaji; St Stephen Choir, St. Estevam; Golden Voices-Holy Family, Church, Porvorim; Menino Jesus Kala Association, Chinchinim; Sanctus, Majorda; Holy Cross Choir, Porvorim, Alto-Porvorim; Serenaders of Telaulim; St Vincent Pallotti Choir, Chicalim; St Anne’s Choir, Ponda; Crescendo, Fatorda; Paddechim Kirnam, Mola de Avedem Paroda; St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa; Saviourites Of Loutulim, Orgao Loutulim; St. Michael Choir, Orlim, Salcette; Angel’s Choir, Fatorda; Crescendo Music School, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa; St Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Church, Ribandar; St Sebastiao Chapel, Benaulim; Whispering Hope Margao, Margao; Moriechim Ballkam, Desterro,Vasco-da-Gama; Our Lady of Fatima Choir, Cortalim; Excelcis Choir, Goltim - Navelim Divar; Echoes Of Carmel, Nuvem; Resonating Mellows, Merces; Saviour Of The World Church, Saloi, Alto Porvorim; Archangels Voices, Sankhali; Lourdes Harmonies, Reis Magos; Carmel Chorals, Shapur, Ponda; The Echoes, Colva; Our Lady Of The Sick Church Choir, Quelossim; The Rosarians Choir, Caranzalem, the groups will performs. As per the press note issued by the organisers, Each groups will be given 10 minutes minimum and 15 minute maximum time for their performance.

Kala Academy has instituted prizes of Rs 50,000 (first prize) and trophy, Rs 30,000 (second prize), Rs 20,000 (third prize) and 2 consolation prizes of Rs 10,000 each to the winners.  There shall be prize distribution function of the competitions immediately after the performances are over. The function will be graced by Govind Gaude, KA chairman.
