Actor Chris Hemsworth's diet was reduced to merely "a boiled egg, a couple of crackers and a celery stick" to lose weight for his new movie. The Australian is known for his blonde locks, brooding stare and buff physique thanks to roles such as Marvel superhero Thor, but for his latest movie, In the Heart of the Sea, he had to drop a scary amount of weight to portray a man stranded on the ocean. "We couldn't go away for a month and get skinny, we had to do it while we were shooting," Chris revealed to Men's Health. "At one point, a day's rations were a boiled egg, a couple of crackers and a celery stick."
The 32-year-old now has to go from one extreme to the other, as he is currently getting back in superhero shape to play Thor in his third standalone movie, Thor: Ragnarok, which is set for release in 2017. "To get back to looking like Thor is simple: I get in the gym and work out," he said. "I enjoy it. It keeps me fit and healthy. I've got to eat more calories - certain types and all clean - and it can get boring eating chicken breast and rice and so on. But at least you're fed properly."
