Taking another look at the ideas you learnt as a child can be an eye opener, and this is what Karishma D’Souza is trying to convey through her first solo exhibition "In retelling" being held at Fundação Oriente in Panaji.
Her works reflect a second look at the land and her learning away from the place she grew up in. They explore the texts of Bhakti poetry of the XII to the XV century - moving to the wandering poets Akka Mahadevi and Lal Ded. They are also an ode to friendship and connections - visual letters to friends and carry memories of specific places travelled to and the companions travelled with through reading and personal experience.
The exhibition will be on display till November 9.
