working in the Ecology and Environment sector conducted a seminar on "Environment and Forests of Goa" for the class IX students of S S Samiti's IVBD High School, Dhavali-Ponda.
ECROIndia highlighted responsibilities towards environment protection and introduction to sustainable
development.
Headmistress Sampada Naik presided over the seminar while Pooja Shinde, Programme Officer, ECONET, Pune was a special guest.
Many students participated in the seminar which began by showing a short documentary film followed by a pre-test which was conducted to assess their level of basic understanding about the topic.
Laxmikant Desai representing ECROIndia, presented the basic concepts of environment and forest as an ecosystem considering the Goan scenario. Dattaram Phadte, President ECROIndia, presented "Photographic glimpses" of different flora, fauna, cultures and traditions documented by ECROIndia in different regions of India.
Gaurav Matkar, Vice President, ECROIndia, and Natasha Shirodkar, an active member of ECROIndia facilitated the Nature Journal activity in the school campus.
