V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) are playing host to a team of international students from various hospitality schools operated and managed by Turismo de Portugal. The month long programme aims at promoting professional knowledge and cultural integration in the field of hospitality and tourism both in Portugal and India and is part of an agreement signed between the two nations. The students will go through various classroom sessions on Indian cuisine spread over the coming four weeks. Showmanship and a session on Irish coffee making will give an opportunity to the students to exhibit their culinary skills.

Considered to be holy, Tulsi, which in Sanskrit means ‘the incomparable one’, will be the point of focus in one-of-a-kind festival at Big Foot in Lotoulim slated to begin on February 3.   The Tulsi festival which will be held in collaboration with the Department of Forests will showcase the many varieties of this medicinal plant and its uses (both, medicinal and ritualistic) will be displayed and discussed.
