Fusion of art and nature

An exhibition of paintings by artist JR Pardeshi is currently underway at Kala Academy in Panaji. Paintings in the exhibition are themed around nature, and have been painted using various means including colour pencils, oil paints, and digital medium. Artist JR Pardeshi, who has been a lecturer in fine arts at Surat for three decades, states that his painting have been inspired by stones of various shapes and sizes, movement of figures, and by the Shiva Lingam. The hallmark of the exhibition is the use of pencils and gel pens to illustrate the fine texture of trees, grass and stones in nature.

The artist has also created a unique fusion of pencil and digital painting. This involves creating a line drawing in pencils, then converting it into digital form and adding digital effects to it using softwares such as Photoshop. Pardeshi wishes to develop this technique further and create some unique works of art.
