Santa Cruz is set to host an unforgettable Sao Joao bash titled Festas de Sao Joao this Sunday with delicious food and music that will highlight Goan traditions. Sao Joao has been one of the most loved festivals of Goa, and adds its own unique colour to the state’s diverse heritage. Even as the festival is celebrated in various parts of the world, Goa is said to be the only place where the event is marked by taking a leap into water.
True to this tradition, water is at the centre of the upcoming Sao Joao bash being organised by Ex Students of Santa Cruz High School and Higher Secondary School in association with Power Decorators. The venue offers one of the biggest rain-dance floors in Goa along with two swimming pools.
Decoration for the event is built around a Goan theme. Additionally, it pays a special tribute to the culture of Santa Cruz, and depicts important water resources of the area. The party shall also boast a number of authentic traditional Goan dishes.
On the music front too, the guest will be treated to all sorts of music ranging from traditional to modern. For one of its previous editions, the Sao Joao bash showcased Goan wedding music. Continuing this tradition, the hallmark of the event is a surprise performance of traditional music that is related to a particular aspect of Goan culture. What’s more, talented DJs including DJ Ryan Nogar, Brainwash, Deep, Jack Mathews, Milind and others will also offer guests a chance to grove to scintillating tunes from different genres.
Festa De Sao Joao is set to be held on Sunday, June 23, at Salt Lake Grounds, Santa Cruz Goa. The event will take place from 11 am to 6 pm.
