You’ve heard of Pentatonix, right? You haven’t? Okay, first crawl out from that rock you’ve been living under for the past few years and feast your ears on some quality harmony and voices from one of the world’s premier a capella groups. Pentatonix has covered some amazing music over the years and has also worked with some of the biggest names in music the world over, like Dolly Parton and even won a few Grammys. Imagine this, they’ve only been in the mainstream for five years now, ever since they won a television show in 2011.
The group from Texas has now released a Christmas album and they premiered the first song from that, a cover of Hallelujah. Now, if you like the song, you may prefer the Jeff Buckley version, or the Leonard Cohen one. Or even perhaps one of those cover versions that someone on American Idol did. Yes, exactly, that guy whose name we cannot remember because he’s no longer famous. All said and done, Pentatonix has taken this wonderful song and put their own spin on it, beatboxing and all.
