Horrible horror films
Captured by : pg 2- lead

After annoying viewers with numerous miniscule trailers which promised that September 16 would be the world's scariest day, movie goers who decided to check out the recently released Raaz Reboot were for most part of it left repenting their choice with Bollywood delivering yet another flop show in the horror genre. And critics too have not minced words in calling the Emran Hashmi starrer regressive, full of cliches and not one bit scary whatsoever. Here's a look at some other horror films that Bollywood has tried it's hand with but failed miserably

Bhoot Returns

Here is yet another fine example of why sequels shouldn't be made on every good film. On the heels of the successful Bhoot, Ram Gopal Varma took inspiration from Paranormal Actovity which follows a family that moves into a new house following which the daughter befriends a spirit and is eventually possessed. How many times has the same story line been used over and over again?

Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahaani

This strange story revolves around reincarnation. Manisha Koirala plays a rape victim reborn while her lover from the previous life also comes to present day to exact revenge. The film boasted of a huge line up of known names like Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Aftab and Sonu Nigam, but this snake love story is best left ignored.

Phoonk 2

One more Ram Gopal Verma sequel gone wrong. Despite having a talented cast of actors Phoon 2 failed to impress. Once again it is the kids who find a doll in the woods which contains the spirit of a past enemy in their father's life. Yet again murders begin to take place as the family tries to think up ways on how to overcome the ghost. Same old story. Same old.

Kaal

With eerie songs in the start and end credits, which saw even King Khan shaking his leg, viewers had high hopes for this film. But a tiger who takes a human forn and kills off all who enter and spoil his jungle wasn't enough to hold the interest of anyone.

Krishna Cottage

Krishna Cottage follows a group of college friends, an author, the college principal and a ghost that has been reborn to seek out true love. Once more there are a whole lot of murders and a spirit floating around and all ends well in the end.

Riz Ahmed pens essay on racial profiling

‘The Night Of’ and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor Riz Ahmed has penned a heartfelt essay about breaking down racial stereotypes in Hollywood and the wider world. The 33 year old British actor, who comes from a Pakistani family, has revealed he feels both “typecast” as a terrorist every time he passes through airport security when travelling, and also that this impression extends to the range of roles he’s offered as a professional film star. At the start of his career,…
