Hot air ballooning
Captured by : pick 2

Goa looks as beautiful from ground zero as well as from up in the skies. Don’t believe it, hop into a hot air balloon and see for yourself.

Hot air ballooning is one of the new initiatives of the Goa Tourism authorities to ensure that tourists get a 360 degree exposure to Goa and its rich offerings.

The gentle sway of the balloon borne upon the winds, with a panorama, a bird’s eye view of the surroundings is an amazing experience. The 360 degree field of vision and the weightless sensation of being lifted off your feet up to heights of 2500 feet, can only be experienced in a hot air balloon.

The balloon, or envelope, which is made up of strips of fabric that have been sewn together along with vertical load tapes, is inflated and filled with hot air. Attached to the bottom, open end of the envelope, is a wicker basket that can seat upto 12 people.

The balloon is controlled by the pilot with the help of a propane fuelled burner. The amount of hot air in the envelope determines the rate of ascent and descent. This experience, besides allowing for a brilliant balloon ride also offers the guests a chance to help with the inflation of the balloon. The pilot will talk you through the mechanics of the process as well. Balloon rides make for great photo ops thanks to the brilliant 360 degree view from the basket.

Hot air ballooning is a great way to see more of the lush Goan countryside, as well as an exciting activity that does not require any particular athletic prowess. Sunrise flights are also a great favourite as romantic couple getaways, offering spectacular and panoramic views of a fiery Goan sun-up.

You can book your hot air ballooning ride on this website.
