Selfie, selfie, selfie
I don’t understand the selfie craze. I have a group of friends and most of them are really selfie crazy. They probably take about 10-15 selfies a day. That’s only when we are at college or hanging out afterwards. I don’t know what they do in the night. Do they take a selfie when they wake up in the morning? What is also confusing is what they do with these selfies. Very few are put up on social media, apart from one friend whose Instagram page is full of only her selfies. She even takes them against the sunset. Her aim it to try and get the sun to get behind her head, so it looks like a halo. When I ask my friends what they do with it, they say “beshte re!” So what is the use?

I remember thinking that this selfie craze was really stupid about the time some idiot came out with a song about a selfie. That was a few years ago, so I can only imagine what the situation is now. Selfie sticks are the norm. I wouldn’t buy one, but the wife has one. So do each of my children, which makes it a good thing, because if they ever do something stupid I can just beat them on their behinds with it. No, don’t worry. I’m not that bad. This is a different age, where everyone wants to shoot pictures with their heads or part of their bodies in them. We cannot help it. Now there are phones with cameras built especially for selfies. What I implore you not to do, is ever wonder aloud whether your friends do take selfies in the night. The last thing you would want is a naked selfie. Believe me, it’s very disconcerting. I had a friend who sent one to me by mistake. That was the end of our boys nights out for a while. Even now we shake hands very awkwardly. Do not go there!

Salt and pepper problems
I am a thirty-something guy with a shock of curly hair that has gone peppery before its time. In my opinion, it makes me look wise. But I have female colleagues, who are not too younger than me and who enjoy making midlife-crisis jokes about my prematurely graying curls. I need to get them out of my hair and soon! But the problem is that they are too daft to get my subtle, dry sarcastic retorts, which would otherwise put a British nanny to shame. How do I convey my anger in a classy way without really putting it out on public display?
Curly
I’m sorry, but I have to ask you this “ Where’s Larry and Moe? If you’re staring at this with a confused look on your face, google it for crying out loud you stooge. I know a thing or two when it comes to matter of the hair. I too had a salt and pepper look. Somewhere down the line, I ran out of pepper. It happens to everywhere. But hey, sounds like you still have your humour intact, that’s important. I try to think of it as a ‘gift’ for those with high intellect. Somehow most really intelligent people I know have alopecia or some other sort of hair issue. Now, these ladies you speak of. They sound very mean. It reminds me of his movie I watched a long time ago with Lindsay Lohan, called Mean Girls. Are they just like that? Do they really make your hair stand on end? Oh wait…scratch that. Do they get you up in knots? Alright, I promise, no more hair references. I know, it’s unhair…I mean unfair. You’ll get over it. If you can’t well, suck it up. You’re losing sheen. Deal with it.

I want to meet pretty girls but I’m an accountant and there are no really interesting and pretty girls in my college. How do I solve this problem? I live in a village which also has no pretty girls. I really feel like I live in a desert.

Well, you could become a fashion photographer and meet all the pretty girls you want. Accounting doesn’t have too many pretty girls eh? I’ll remember that when I have to give the nephew career advice. In the meantime, I suggest you first concentrate on the numbers in your studies instead of the number of pretty girls you need to meet. Good things come to those who wait. Although some of them die single.
