Bones is officially coming to an end “ but not until next year. Fox's Bones creator Hart Hanson and stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz announced that 12 final episodes will air over the autumn of 2016 and into 2017. The future of the long-running procedural drama had been in some doubt, having been left out of Fox's initial wave of renewals at last month's TCA press tour. Bones began on Fox a decade ago in 2005, amidst a wave of procedural dramas. The grim format of solving a death through analyzing remains offset by quirky humour earned the series a loyal following “ and two Emmy nominations.
