Captured by : Jazz Concert IMB - Narayan Pissurlenkar
It was a lovely Saturday evening at the Institute Menezes Braganza hall in Panaji, as the Alliance Francaise hosted a jazz recital by the EYM trio. The trio, made up of Elie on piano, Yann on bass and Mark on drums enthralled the audience with some great instrumental jazz, full with heavy piano-led rhythms. Almost all the songs were original compositions by the group, influenced by the places thye visited. They also did an amazing cover of Chick Corea's Armando's Rhumba, and their own arrangement of a Bulgarian folk song. The hall was packed full of music afficionados, who tittered with laughter when Elie cracked a few jokes, including a promise that the next original song would be called "Goa, or Panjim..."
The incessant rain outside did nothing to dampen the spirits of many who turned up half-soaked for the performance. The warm mood inside was heartening enough!
