Naseeruddin Shah doesn’t do ordinary movies, he does good ones, for the most part. So, for us, Irada seems very interesting already. The trailer only proves that. But Bollywood can hardly ever make a serious movie, especially one that has Arshad Warsi in one of the lead roles, that too as a cop. No doubt that Warsi is a talented actor, but he’s more suited to the Munnabhai MBBS kind of roles. A senior police office who is trying to rid the world of evil? Perhaps not. Given Warsi’s stellar acting cred, he just might ace the role, so we’ll wait until the movie is out. The trailer is a bit long, simply because it has to let us know exactly who is good, who the bad guy is, and show us a lot of action sequences. We prefer the Hollywood model of releasing trailers that aren’t that long but in a set, so we find out mostly everything anyway but there’s an element of suspense. Trailer 2 will only release one month after Trailer 1. See the class there? Anyway, back to Irada, the movie seems to have a strong plotline, and it’s got Naseeruddin Shah, so we’ll be waiting.
