Karan Johar’s autobiography’s release event is going to be one of the most spectacular events in Bollywood. The actor, director, fashion designer and chat show host has a career spanning over 20 years; he has definitely made his mark in B-town. His book, scheduled to release on January 16th first made headlines when he opened up about his spite with Kajol.
His book now opens up about his 2002 fight with Kareena Kapoor. In 2002, when he was casting for Kal Ho Na Ho he approached Kareena Kapoor for the leading role. However, things didn’t work out between the two and Karan ended up casting Preity Zinta for the same role which fumed Kareena. Karan opens up about what happened, "She (Kareena) asked for too much money. She also said, 'Aditya Chopra's assistant Kunal Kohli has made this flop, so Karan Johar's assistant, Nikhil Advani is not to be trusted either'.
The director further mentions how they didn’t speak to each other for almost a year. “It was very idiotic. She was a kid; she's a decade younger than me."Months later, when Karan's father (the producer Yash Johar) had been diagnosed with cancer, the duo was able to sort their differences out. Kareena called up Karan and got emotional on the phone. She consoled and reconciled by saying 'I love you and I am so sorry I haven't been in touch. Don't worry”.
Later on, they both went ahead to work in movies like Bombay Talkies and Kurbaan.
