The Department of History, Carmel College recently hosted an inter-collegiate event in the college premises which saw participation from ten colleges. The event saw a number of on stage and off stage events like a medley of dances, pageant of the past, folk dance competition, poster, quiz and essay competitions. Rosary College, Navelim were the proud winners while Government College Quepem stood in second place The Department also put up a mini-museum which had various hertage items on display, such as old coins, the used by toddy-tappers, the for incense, the to drain rice, the to store vinegar and many others, most of which, are now no longer in vogue.
