When in doubt…
..wear black! An LBD is the perfect solution for a fancy night out. Not only does black look formal, but it will also hide any extra kilos you may have put on during the winter. Pair it with a nice stole or a jacket. The latter could be in black or even another colour that will make you stand apart. Pair that with a nice pair of heels and you’re set to go.
Lady in red
Red will certainly make you stand out, remember to stay away from scarlet hues of the colour and instead go for a dress or top in a deeper red tone or with metallic hints. Layers add visual relief to the look while the deep shade ensures you looks smart without trying too hard. Also, don't overdo it with a red lipstick - keep it chic with a nude shade and focus on the eyes with kohl and mascara. If you like, you can offset the red with another colour, perhaps silver or gold, just to change it up a bit.
Sash it up
For those who haven't had the time to pick up a special ensemble for the night, team a deep-neck top with a pair of wide-legged trousers or skirt in black. Take a thick long piece of fabric and tie it around your waist like a sash. The trick is to do it neatly and end it with a large statement bow and voila, and you're good to go!
