Révas Productions in association with YUVA, Panaji and in collaboration with Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of Goa organized Take 1, a short film competition and a workshop at Institute of Menezes Braganza, Panaji.
The competition was conducted in two categories - student and open. The topic for student category was ‘environment’ whereas topic for open category was ‘traffic awareness’. The contest received about 25 entries and saw POI Productions (Journey) and Ishank Mahale (Rakhandar) winning first and second place respectively in the student category.
In the open category, Solkadi films (#BeAGoodPedestrian) and Roshan Kumbhar (NEM-rules) took first and second place. The judges for the competition were Rajesh Pednekar, Rajiv Shinde, Mohan Chandelkar and Sainath Parab.
Following this a workshop was conducted by the judges. Mohan Chandelkar (Konkani actor) spoke on acting and performing art in films. Sainath Parab (Editor) spoke on cinematography and how to capture right expression through lenses and edit it with new technology. Rajesh Pednekar (Actor/producer, K Sera Sera) spoke on how to act in films and about production whereas Rajiv Shinde (Director, K Sera Sera) spoke on the challenges faced by the director and how to tackle the same.
The prize distribution was done at the hands of Dr. Rufino Monteiro (President, YUVA) in presence of Gopinath Chandelkar (Founder, Révas Productions). Gaurish Chandelkar and Shashank Sukhthankar
The best films of the competition will be circulated by YUVA to Panaji schools and will be given to Goa State Pollution Control Board as well as Goa Traffic Cell so it can be used for awareness among society.
