The annual state level Dekhava Competition was organised by the Directorate of Art and Culture recently and witnessed the participation of 25 institutions from all over Goa.
The competition was judged by Nagesh Sardessai, Hitesh Pankar and Vitesh Naik and saw Brameshwar Yuvak Sangh, St Estevam walk away with the first prize. Kala Yuvak Sangh, St Estevam and Kshatriya Maratha Samaj, Khumbarjua won second and third place respectively. Kunkalikar Bal Kala Mandal,Ponda, Mahaganpati Sausthan, Makai, Shantadurga Kala Krida Sangh, Vasco, Yuva, Panaji and Shree Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Samittee, Sanguem were awarded consolation prizes.

United Friends, Panaji organised the 11th All Goa Fishing Competition recently at the Captain of Ports Jetty, Panaji.

 The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 88 anglers around the state and of all ages with the youngest being seven years of age while the oldest was 80. Tito Maia who caught a 1 kg 200 grams ‘gobro' (reef cod) was awarded first place, John Dias' 834 grams red snapper fetched him the second place while Felix Pereira walked away with the third place for his 277 gram ‘shevto' (grey mullet).
