Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is slated to present the State budget for the 2019-20 fiscal on Wednesday.  

Parrikar, according to legislature department sources will  read out a ‘brief’ budget speech and also move a money bill for over Rs  1200-crore ‘vote-on-account’ to cover bare government spending between  April and September this year.  

The Opposition Congress, however, has censured the  government for going ahead with a truncated budget session for the  second year in a row depriving scrutiny of the State’s finances and also  the government’s future plans.

CM also estimates higher fiscal deficit of Rs 1,418.65 crore, public debt of Rs 15,008.7 crore

The Goan Network Riding on a 14.4% growth in total revenue receipts, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has estimated that the state government will have a Rs 455 crore revenue surplus for the year 2019-20. A revenue surplus shows that State’s day-to-day income is going to be more than its day-to-day expenditure.
