Gallery Gitanjali and Alakananda Nag is all set to organise a month event Fontainhas Exchange. The first session Songs of Memory will be held on December 13, 6 pm and is a presentation by literary and cultural historian Professor Ananya Jahanara Kabir of Kings College, London. Currently, she directs , a five-year research project funded by an ERC Advanced Grant. examines the resilience and global popularity of Afro-diasporic music and dance created through colonialism and the slave trade.She will be presenting her current research (part of Modern Moves) - memory work around Mando and Fado in Goa. This will be followed by a conversation with India's noted Fadista Sonia Shirsat.

They came all the way from Japan to France with a crazy idea: establishing a factory for authentic dried bonito flakes, a key ingredient in Japanese cuisine that is very rare in Europe.
