Paintballing

Paintballing
Captured by : pg 4- go here

You don’t have to be engaged in war, if you want to stick a gun at someone and pull the trigger. Just give paintballing a shot. Paintballing aficionados call the sport a great way to not only de-stress, but they say it also helps develop a mean killer instinct and is a great tool for team building and motivation.

The game is simple. A group of wannabe paintballers is split into two and each group given two military uniforms of different colours and patterns and guards to save you from the whack of the paintball. Each team is assigned a role, where one is an attacker and the other has to ward off the team of attackers. The ‘battles’ if you want to call them that, are combat scenarios created in an open area, complete with places to shield your men in strategic areas. The guns look like the real deal, but instead of bullets, they shoot soluble dyes. If a shooter gets you, you are out.

Goa has a few paintballing areas, which are listed below and could be worth a visit, if you have developed an itchy finger of a sudden.

With their polished bodies, gleaming gilded edges and consciously unquiet engines, purring as if they are proving a point to the world, vintage cars are a different breed of beasts.

And the point which vintage cars perhaps try to prove often, is that well cared for cars of a differnt age are still capable of turning heads in their direction, more often than their digitally synced, automatic, even if expensive and more modern, counterparts.

One of the best places in Goa to catch a glimpse of these vintage cars is at the Ashvek Vintage World. This haven is just an example of how stereo-typed Goa has the capacity to throw up the occasional surprise to those who care to arrive here with a sense of inquisitiveness.

Located at Nuvem village, around 25 kms south of Panaji, Ashvek Vintage World is run by Pradeep Naik, an avid vinatage car enthusiast with few parallels in Goa.

Naik's kink is reconditioning and restoration of vintage cars and the love and passion with which he goes about his job, is evident.

Some of his favourites are the Vidal Tempo, a powerful twin-engine vehicle which was once used by the mighty Germany army for transportation.

A French Peugeot 301 of 1931 make, a gleaming white Morris 8 from 1940 and a mean three cylinder DKW 1959 Mercedez Benz 170, which once served as the royal carriage of the king of Sawantwadi, a principality in the neighbouring state of Maharashtra are some of his prized posessions. And there are many, many more to drool over in his collection.

If you love cars, it woud be difficult to pull you away from here.
