The event was organised without alcohol and commercialization. Porvorim MLA and Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte attended the festival.
Speaking on the occasion, Socorro Parish Priest Fr Santana Carvalho said this unique feast is being celebrated by all the communities of Socorro. "This festival brings together all sections of Socorro village and provide an opportunity for locals to showcase their talents. This is the fest of the villagers of Socorro," added Fr Carvalho.
Sharing his thoughts on the festival, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said: "With so many disturbing instances and hate crimes going on in the world, this event is an example of unity without religious, racial or regional barriers."
"This kind of occasion should be organized in every part of Goa. The festival is a good initiative to connect people with different religious backgrounds and maintain cultural identity of Goa," added Khaunte.
The highlight of the feast was mouth-watering treats and delectable items like Patolleo, Sanna, etc. The women of Socorro prepared the traditional ‘patolleo' steamed in ‘holdi panna' and ‘pudde/khole' steamed in jackfruit leaves.
The traditional handicrafts of Socorro were also displayed on the occasion. The multicultural programme of songs and dance were also presented by several groups from Socorro.
