Goa police personnel fanned out to various places and installations as the two-day Sagar Kavach exercise got underway in the State on Tuesday.
The men-in-uniform were seen manning public buildings such as the district Collectorate building, the Margao Municipal building and the district police headquarters to name a few since morning till evening. Members of the public were checked and searched for any incriminating material as part the exercise.
The exercise was also conducted along Salcete’s coastline by the Colva police. Colva PI Filomena Costa had last week had a series of meetings with the fishermen of Colva, Benaulim and Varca on the security exercise which is being conducted to test the preparedness of the security agencies to terror threats.
