In order to encourage youth to learn to play blowing instruments like trumpet and saxophone, the Tiatre Academy of Goa has formulated a scheme with a view of providing interested students with financial assistance.
Interested persons will have to identify a tutor having the credentials to teach him/her the blowing instrument. The tuition fees to the tutor will be paid by TAG. The student will be provided an instrument by TAG at subsidized rate of 50% of the cost of the instrument approved by TAG. The student will have to give an undertaking to TAG that he/she will serve the tiatr stage by playing in any tiatr band or musical group for at least one year after completion of the course. Preference will be given to applicants having knowledge of music.
The scheme will be implemented on ‘First Come First Serve’ basis and applications will be considered as per the availability of funds. The students will be awarded certificates upon the successful completion of the course. The duration of the course will be at two levels and will be spread over a period of 2 years or else as finalized by the panel of experts as the need may be.
The application forms and rules and regulations of the Promotion of Tiatr Music scheme may be collected from the Tiatr Academy Goa at Campal Trade Centre. The last date to submit the forms is December 9.
