Jack Reacher : Never Go Back

Director: Edward Zwick

Starring: Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders, Patrick Heusinger, Danika Tarosh

The movie title itself is a giveaway especially if you've watched the first movie that came out in 2012. Never go back. Indeed, it's advisable that you follow these instructions for this film which is based on the books by Lee Child, and takes place four years after the events of the first film.

A couple of days after former U.S. Army Military Police Corps officer Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise in a familar role) reconnects with Major Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders) and asks her out on a date, Turner is arrested for allegedly selling military secrets. Sensing something fishy about the whole matter, Reacher decides to make some inquiries and get a better picture of the situation. However his nosing around lends him into further trouble as he finds himself accused of murder. Together with Turner, Reacher escapes from prison and the two of them begin their own investigations into the matter while trying to hide away from the police. At the same time there's the tiny matter that Reacher may have a daughter (Danika Tarosh) that he was unaware about until now and may never get to know better if he isn't careful.

Corruption in the system. A hero with police training to figure it all out, together with a pretty lady who he has a thing for. And a love child that needs to be protected. Sounds like a familiar plot line? Because it is and has been more than overdone in plenty of movies in the past and viewers can more or less predict every move much in advance. Although Tom Cruise is flawless as usual in his role and Cobie Smulders has done some brilliant acting as a military person and is sure to get her plenty of notice, the storyline lets them down. This is definitely not one of their memorable outings.

Old man Logan

Wolverine is probably one of the biggest characters in the X Men series, not just the movies but the comic books too. There have been amazing X Men movies and there have been a few bad ones. The Wolverine origins movie stank. It wasn’t good, not by a long shot. The second one, The Wolverine, was much better. Now, Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the adamantium clawed immortal angry man, in possibly his last film as Logan/Wolverine. Fittingly, the movie is titled Logan.…
